How to Avoid Facing the Blank Page

Okay folks, true confession time! I am working on a novel, but I am not getting as much done as I would like. This is because of my fear of The Dreaded Blank Page (I strangely have the urge to insert a TM here). So I decided to avoid facing the blank page.
How you may ask? Through a variety of methods, my friend!

1. Watch Really Bad Television

“What Not to Wear” or “America’s Next Top Model” are particularly addictive. Pretty clothes! Cattiness! Makeup!

2.  Read Blogs

Here are few of my favorites:

  • http://yoursuperawesomelife.com/

3. Look at Social Media

This is pretty self-explanatory. I am sure you are already practiced at this one.

4. Read Graphic Novels

“I will only look at a page” becomes a whole book when you are reading The Sandman by Neil Gaiman.

5. Clean

I have no idea why one of my Dreaded Activities becomes appealing when I have to write.  Maybe I will get the urge to write if I schedule time to clean?

So what is the take away from all this? Do not be like me! Turn off the internet and television, hide all your books, and magically not look at your dirty apartment.

Or go to a coffee shop without Wifi.
